Injustice (2021)

Hi fellow animation fans, welcome to me review of Injustice.

Synopsis: On an alternate Earth Superman (Justin Hartley) is tricked by the Joker (Kevin Pollack) into killing Lois Lane, this leads him into a cycle of violence and totalitarian rule of Earth all in the name of justice. Batman (Anson Mount) and his allies then have to act to stop him. It is based on the comic book of the same name.

The Good:

*The fast-paced action does a really great job at holding your attention, it was really enjoyable to watch with a nice drink and some snacks.

* The voice acting was also really well done, there were a few weird choices, but it did not detract from how well everyone else portrayed their parts.

* The initial 15 to 20 minutes at the start that depicts Superman's fall from grace was extremely well written and had me glued to the screen wondering what was going to happen.

* I also really enjoyed the more mature tone of this movie, usually Superman movies are kept to a PG rating due to his clean-cut image and to appeal to a larger audience, so an R18 Superman movie is definitely refreshing.

The Bad:

* Some of the bloody violence feels like it was added more for shock value then to actually move the story forwards, I feel that a bit of character development was excluded for this.

* The fast pace while good also hindered this movie as there was not a lot of character development, this made many of the characters forgettable. I honestly don't know why DC movies always seem to go for no more than 90 minutes, I know animation fans will watch longer movies.

IMDB 6.2/10                       Rotten Tomatoes 60%                My Rating  5/10

A chance meeting in Metropolis.

Paw Patrol The Movie (2021)

Hi fellow animation fans, welcome to my review of Paw Patrol: The Movie.

Synopsis: When the newly elected Mayor Humdinger starts wreaking havoc in Adventure City it falls to Ryder (Will Brisbin), Chase (Iain Armitage) and the rest of the Paw Patrol team to take down the power-hungry Mayor. Along the way they meet up with the savvy Dachshund Liberty (Marsai Martin) who becomes their newest ally.

The Good:

* The animation is all very crisp and colorful, with all scenes nice, clear and easy to see even during times when there is a lot of action on screen.

* The movie had jokes for people of all ages, awesome slapstick for the little ones and more subtle jokes about things such as merchandising for the adults.

* The messaging is really well done, I watched with some younger children, and they were urging Chase on when he had to make a big leap, so they definitely took on the 'have faith in yourself' message, even if they didn't know it.

The Bad:

* As an adult one or two watches is not that bad, it is still funny but then it gets a bit boring, unfortunately young children are going to love this and want to watch it many times.

* Some parts are probably going to scare very young children.
